Thimble-shaped, lavender-purple blooms with maroon spotted throats flower on upright stalks. May act as a biennial, so allow a few blooms to go to seed. CAUTION: All parts of this plant are toxic & may be fatal if ingested. Attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds. Excellent, old-fashioned shade garden plant.
Prefers light shade and moist, well-drained soil. Cut back old bloom stems to encourage reblooming. Drought tolerant and deer resistant.
