Vernonia lettermannii Summer Swan Song

Deep red stems with needle-like purple-tinged olive green leaves and produce interlocking bloom stems of feathery tufts of purple flowers. Blooms up to 6 weeks in autumn. Plants are compact and do not flop open even in strong wind. Plant patented.

Prefers full sun and average to dry soil. Drought tolerant. Attractive to hummingbirds and butterflies. Deer resistant.
