Upright clumps of narrow fingered, deep green foliage with a reddish tint produce large silvery buds that open to feathery, cerise-purple, elongated bloom heads all summer. Highly attractive to bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. May self sow.

Prefers sun to part shade and average to dry, well-drained soil, including clay.
