Large, 5-petaled, bright red flowers bloom like fireworks from early to mid-summer over downy, upright, lanceolate foliage. Native to the Central and Southern US. Highly attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds.
Each flower has a sticky calyx which gives this plant its common name. Grows best in full sun to part shade and average to dry, well-draining soil.
