Buds that resemble raspberries open to clear wine-red flowers. Very mildew resistant fragrant foliage. Attractive to hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees. Deer resistant. Native cultivar.
Prefers sun to light shade and moist, well-drained soil. Drought tolerant but will also do well in boggy situations and clay soil.
