Light pink flowers have a bright red eye which streaks into the petals. Maple-like leaves are copper-red with orangish-red undersides. Flowers are up to 10" across and have some ruffling and overlapping.
Best grown in moist soil with some drainage. Very slow to break dormancy in spring. Attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds. Tolerant of clay soil. Deadhead spent flowers to promote long blooming.
