5" dark purple, almost-black blooms with greenish-yellow throats standout in any garden. After plant has been established for 2-3 years all flowers will be double. Attractive to pollinators. Early-midseason. Fragrant. Tetraploid.
Tolerant of wet conditions, coastal conditions, and clay soil. Pull out old foliage as it yellows and remove spent blooms to prevent seed production. Divide every 3 yrs.
