Clusters of lightly fragrant, pinkish orange blooms with salmon butterfly marks and long stamens flower mid-summer into fall. Tropical looking plants, their sharply pointed, lance-shaped leaves appear on strong stalks that arise from thick rhizomes.
Prefer sun to partial shade and moist to wet, organic-rich soil. In colder zones, the rhizomes may be stored in a cool dry location for winter.
