Geum triflorum
Prairie Smoke
Pink blooms from May to June have elongated red stamens that remain after the petals fall, giving a mass of these plants a haze of "silvery pink smoke". The deeply cut, ferny foliage remains attractive through the summer.
A native primarily of our northern Central to Great Plains, this plant is well adapted to dry situations spreading gradually by creeping rootstocks.
