Broad, sword-shaped, sharply toothed, glossy, green basal leaves can reach 16" long. Greenish white flowers are borne on leafless stems. Evergreen. Attractive to butterflies.
Prefers full sun and moist, well-drained soils. Tolerant of clay soil, coastal conditions and drought.
