Black asparagus-like shoots in spring produce a mound of leathery blue-green foliage from which arise long spikes of creamy-white, pea-like flowers up to 1" across. Native. Attractive black seed pods in fall and winter.
Prefers full sun and average to dry sites. Easily grown in low fertility soil, including clay.
