Extremely dark foliage is beautifully scalloped and is larger than Ajuga 'Mahogany'. Evergreen. Often used as a groundcover, bugleweed is happy in conditions ranging from dry soil to bogs. Attractive to butterflies. Deer resistant. Plant patented.
Prefers light shade to partial shade with protection from afternoon sun. Happy in moist, well-drained soils, but will tolerate dry to wet once establlished. Can also tolerate clay soil. Can be grown under black walnut trees.
