This Southern US desert plant forms tight rosettes of short, thick, silvery-blue leaves tipped with small red spines. Slowly spreads to form colonies. A tender perennial in Zone 7. Must be grown in full sun and average to dry soil. They bloom once at the end of their life cycle (usually ten years old or more). May reach 15 ft. in bloom.
