Lupinus perennis ssp. unknown

Wild Lupine

Dense spikes of deep lavender, pea-like flowers in late spring and early summer. Handsome plants with finger-shaped green leaves. Needs good drainage and thrives in dry, sandy soils. Attractive to pollinators. Native, but has been cross-pollinated with another species. This strain has 12-13 leaflets on each leaf, instead of the usual 7-11.
