2" globes of purply-pink blooms flower in mid to late summer over clumps of deep green, flattened grass-like leaves. Unlike many ornamental onions, this one is a true clump former with sterile seed so it does not spread about the landscape. 2018 PPA Perennial Plant of the Year.
Prefers full sun to part shade and well-drained soil. Well-adapted to sandy soils.
