Phlox stolonifera Home Fires
Creeping woodland phlox
Masses of large deep pink, fragrant blooms cover this lovely spring wildflower. Deep green, narrow, leathery leaves on trailing stolons form a nice groundcover for shade or woodland gardens. A vigorous cultivar of our woodland native.
Commercial Login
Prefers moist, organic-rich soils in light to moderate shade. Trim back back by 1/2 after blooming to maintain fullness. Drought tolerant when established, but it may need additional water during dry periods the first year or so. Mildew resistant. Attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds. Self sows.
